Equal Opportunity cum Enabling Cell was established by the ILS Law College on 4 January, 2013 on the auspicious occasion of Braille Day, with a view to mainstream disability issues in the domain of higher education. The Cell has organized various events like Workshops, Conferences and Youth Fest. This academic year too, two major events were organized by the cell.
Activities conducted
- The Cell co-organised One Day National Conference on ‘Critical Reflections on Disability Sensitive Legal Order – Indian Scenario’ in collaboration with Centre for Public Law, ILS Law College, Pune.
- The Cell also celebrated Braille Day by organising One-day Legal Orientation Workshop for college going disabled students, in collaboration with Student Development Board, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Pune on 16th February 2018. The guest of honour for this program was Ms. Kavita Durupkar, designated access auditor, Government of India. Dr. Sanjay Jain was the key speaker and Dr. K.S. Waghmare and Mr. D.P. Kendre also presented their papers. We have received a funding of Rs. 20,000/- from SPPU. The program was compered by Saranya Mishra. The Saraswati Vandana was performed by Prachi Dutonde with Dheeraj Rewatkar on Harmonium. In this program, around 80 faculty and students participated from all over the city. The student core committee for this program consisted of Rishabh Pardeshi, V.V.Gnanusha, Jagdish Pawra, Shubham Bhalerao and Saranya Mishra.
