Advanced Certificate Program on CPC 2019-20

Advanced Certificate Program on Civil Court Practice and Procedure with special focus on Arbitration & Conciliation Act.

17th September 2019 – 27th September 2019

The gestation period in Legal Education is longer than any other professional programs in India. The reason being the vastness of the subject to be studied theoretically and equal amount of time required for acquiring the practical skills required post qualification. Though Moot Courts, Mock Trials and Client Counseling activities have played a major role in imparting the theoretical content in practice, however, the simulation of these quasi academic activities do not completely evolve the skills required for practice.

The academic subjects especially procedural laws are the core of legal practice, however, teaching and learning these subjects during the degree programs remain incomplete owing to nature of the subject. Moreover, even practicing lawyers need continuing legal education to upgrade their skills and catch up with contemporary developments in procedural laws.

It is a general belief that Arbitration law is a separate law and complete in itself, but the Civil Procedure Code is applicable in arbitration matters referred before the civil courts under the Arbitration & Conciliation Act 1996.

Thus, to bridge the gap between the academic education and practical skills, and to impart on contemporary developments the program is structured for Judges, practicing lawyers, law teachers, law students, and fresh law graduates.
