The Environmental Law Cell- “ILS Hariyali” took up several activities this academic year. In the beginning, the Club took up an on-going research project on the topic: “Implementation of Environmental Judgments”. During the course of research the Club conducted several sessions so as to analyze important cases and whether judgments delivered by the respective courts were being followed or not. The Club also carried out a case-study on the formulation EIA report and public hearing at the HEGCPL Power Plant in Talegaon.
On the 27th of August, 2013, renowned botanist Dr. Rani Bhagat visited college and took the students of Hariyali for a tour around the campus and ILS Hill. Dr. Bhagat discussed the several plant species in college and explained their significance and importance. In December, the Club carried out research on the latest UNFCCC COP (Conference of Parties) held in November in Warsaw and delved into its successes and failures.
National Seminar on “Attributing Economic Value to Natural Environment: Possibilities and Challenges”.

On February 15, Hariyali organised a National Seminar on “Attributing Economic Value to Natural Environment: Possibilities and Challenges”. In this Seminar, Vipra Salunke, Abhinaya Iyer, Gokul Thampi, Shrutika Gnadhi, Thulasi K. Raj and Shikha Chahal made research paper presentations which were presided over and discussed by a distinguished set of panellists. The panellists for the Seminar were Mr. Satish Awate, Adv. Uday Wajurikar and Ms. Mrinalinee Wanarase. Several students attended the Seminar and made the event a great success.
