Abhivyakti Law Journal 2020-21-Call for Articles, Moot Competition Articles, Essays/Presentations, Case Analysis and Legislative Comments


Dear students, as you all know Abhivyakti Law Journal is a valuable forum for you to showcase your intellect and writing skills, hence we request you all to enrich this year’s volume with your contribution, which may be:

  1. Articles: not more than 3000 words, single author or max. 2 co-authors

Articles can be on any topic of law. It should not be published before in any journal or online platform (including blogs). It should be original and any work copied should be quoted and cited.

 

  1. Moot Competition Articles: not more than 3000 words, max. 3 co-authors (all part of the Moot team)

Students dedicate much of their college time in preparing and competing in Moot competitions. We value the research done for the moot, irrespective whether the team won or not. The moot team member(s) may convert the research into an article. Rules for Article at 1. apply here.

 

  1. Essays/Presentations: 1000-1500 words, single author

Essays/ Presentations may be on topics or themes of law that the author may have presented in the college during academic lectures or ILS cell/center/club sessions. It should be original and comprehensive of the theme.

 

  1. Case Analysis: * 750-800 words, single author

Case Analysis should be of the recent judgements of Supreme Court, High Courts and Tribunals since January 2020. The case analysis should include brief facts, issues involved, arguments in brief and the ratio, along with the reasoning and should conclude with author’s critique.

 

  1. Legislative Comments: * 500-750 words, single author

Legislative comments should be on the recent legislations of Parliament and State Legislatures (Bills and Ordinances excluded). The legislative comment should mention briefly the legislative proceeding details (like who introduced the Bill, date of its passage and commencement of the Act), highlights of the Act and should conclude with author’s critique.

 

* A list of recommended recent most cases and legislations for Case Analysis and Legislative comments would be put up by 25th January 2021. Please visit the college website for the same.

Formatting and Citation style:

  1. Main text: MS Word, Times New Roman, 12pt, 1.5 spacing

Footnote: MS Word, Times New Roman, 10pt, 1.0 spacing

  1. Citation style: SILC (Standard Indian Legal Citation) https://www.silcmanual.org/citation-manual.html
  2. Word limit is inclusive of footnotes for all submissions.
  3. Mention name, class, email id and mobile number of the author(s) on the first page, below the title of the submission.
  4. Submissions not complying with the formatting guidelines shall be subject to outright rejection.
  5. The plagiarism threshold for the submission is 15% plagiarized (i.e. 85% unique).

Submission:

  1. Submissions can be made any time from December, 2020 therefore get cracking.
  2. The last date for submission is 21st March 2021
  3. Send your submissions to [email protected]
  4. The subject of the mail should be “Submission: <title of work>, <name(s)>” (ex. Submission: Constitution, ABC).
  5. Authors should send the submission mail from their own email id and mark the co-authors, if any, in cc.
